Philosophy for Children (P4C) has an impact across all Areas of Learning and Experience and the children love the opportunity to use it as a vehicle to critically think about matters they can choose.
HOUREYES School Community Digital Expressive Arts ProjectThe pupils across the whole school at Fochriw Primary School are taking part in an ambitious project that brings the school and the community together. Working with the renowned artist Tracey Moberly the children are producing a showcase event, film, book and enterprise work!

A Celebration of the STEM and ongoing work on climate change from Fochriw Primary School at Horseshoe Island, the Geetoo Penguins (the fastest penguin swimmers)
Children from Y1 to Year 6 have been taking part in a 'POLAR EXPLORER PROGRAMME' and working closely with STEM Ambassadors. Part of this ongoing work has been work creatively along with combining science and technology with humanities and using numeracy skills across the curriculum. We're sure you'll agree with us it is a huge honour to celebrate our expressive STEM work going to HORSESHOE ISLAND in Antarctia!! We are very grateful to the scientist Dr Ellen Moon and her team making this special video for us. We are inspired by the amazing work these scientists do in Antarctica and learning about it continues to contribute to our ongoing work on climate change. We are scientists at Fochriw! Our Ambitious Capable Learners Visit London to See the MP!The children at Fochriw Primary School know the sky is the limit for them. They thoroughly enjoyed visiting Parliament and learning about British Values, especially democracy.
