Dosbarth Cardiff City

Croeso i Dosbarth Cardiff City!

 Spring Term 2020

We have another exciting term ahead of us in Dosbarth Cardiff City! The children have yet again led our learning and the votes have been counted and verified!  Our brand new topic is...DINOSAURS! We have loads of fun, stimulating and interesting activities ahead of us to really engage and challenge our children such as dinosaur hunts, mini dino’ world planting tasks, researching types of dinosaurs and finding out about Mary Anning the fossil hunter!  Our main stories will be based around Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs and we will also focus on our factual, non-fiction books too!  Please see attached curriculum map for more information split into Areas of Learning and Experiences.

We hope that you will continue to follow your child’s learning journey via their very own Seesaw account.   You can also follow us on Twitter. @FPSCardiffCity

We remind you that our class P.E. day is every Tuesday.  All pupils will need a P.E. kit.

We have a variety of healthy snacks available daily. Snack is £1 per week. We would   appreciate it if you could send in money in a labelled envelope if possible.

Please could you send your child’s reading book into school on their allocated day. Library books (books of your child’s choice for you to read with them) will be sent home every Wednesday.

Homework will be sent out on a Friday and is due back into school on the following Wednesday or as soon as you can.  A variety of tasks may be sent home  including, mathematical and literacy based tasks as well as topical and creative tasks.  We hope you have fun working alongside your child and making memories!

Last but not least– our popular class pal, Gary the Dog is also sent home each Friday with a child of his choice.  We hope you have some fun experiences with him.  Please record your experiences and adventures in his diary and your child will have the opportunity to share this with their teachers and friends as well as boost their confidence when speaking in front of others. (Remember not to feed him too many sausages!)

We look forward to working with you and your child this year!  We have an open door policy and are here to help if you need to speak to the team.  You are welcome to book an appointment in our Wednesday parent surgery if you need to.

‘One Team, One Vision’.

Best wishes,

Mrs A. Gray and Miss S.Maguire
